I’ve been doing a lot lately, yet I’ve accomplished nothing. You, my faithful readers (I’m talking to both of you) may have noticed that I’ve not updated my editorial column in 6 months. There is a good reason for this. I’ve been doing other things.

   Now most magazine editors will tell you that they’ve been busy doing other magazine related tasks all in the name of bringing you a better product. Not me. Here is the official list of things I’ve been doing instead of my job;

  1. My Brother and I have an activity we (quite appropriately) cal “Slacker time” This is where we sit in our favourite restaurant* and drink hot caffeinated beverages, and eat wonderful things like “Yellow Fin Tuna steak with key lime seasoning” or various other gourmet dishes.
  2.  Biking. No not a Harley or even a Honda, I’m talking Bicycle riding. You see while I like my magazine to be well rounded, I don’t like its editor to be, and I’ve gotten very “well rounded” My goal is to drop down 190 lbs before I visit my ex-girlfriend this summer. Not in a million years do I think she would want me back, but I would at least like it to cross her mind.**
  3.   Model Building. As you can see we have the In Scale section fully up and running. If you visit you’ll find new kit reviews, feature articles and some news on new resin kits and details. I also Have been working on some Resin Masters of my own for a “Thus far Un-named Resin Caster” we aren’t ready to announce the new products but let me assure you it will knock your socks off!

    You’re probably asking yourself, “Why hasn’t this slacker been fired yet?” It’s because I’m my own boss, but don’t think I haven’t been thinking of firing me. I have been running this at a deficit for nearly a year now, it’s been a labor of love so I don’t mind, but don’t be surprised if I don’t try to scare up some advertising revenue in the coming year.

    Having said all this I must say in my defense that I’ve been working hard on the magazine. Most of it has been improving my website creation skills, tweaking the look of the site, and writing articles. Lately I’ve been making contact with the automakers, getting on their lists of media outlets, so I get press releases, so you will be seeing a lot more news on this site. I have fallen behind on the Event calendar but will be updating it in the next few weeks. The summer car show season is fast approaching and you will se coverage of  the events, and cruise-in I go to, along with feature articles on some of the hottest cars and trends for this summer.

  So enjoy East Coast Car News, and thanks for hanging in their with me as the magazine grows. This month alone we are poised to reach 15,000 hits for the first time.

 NEW! 23rd Annual MTMA Scale model Show & Contest

  A 400 mile roundtrip and some serious sleep depravation was braved by your intrepid editor to bring you coverage of this event. It was worth it though as the smiling faces and top quality model cars made it all worth it. That, and I also got 40 square feet of .040 styrene sheet for 25 bucks!
